Ospreys, Marsh Harrier and Black Hole Marsh

I know of at least 5 osprey sightings this last week on the Axe and was lucky enough to see 2 of them.

The kingfishers have been posing well for me again as you can see

and the 2 wood sandpipers continue to show well on Black Hole Marsh

This little grebe was near the tower hide as usual

and these fish could be seen quite clearly at the back of Black Hole Marsh

More waders now in the form of a dunlin having a stretch

one of many ring plovers

plus one of the many common sandpipers also having a stretch

2 dunlin early in the morning sunlight

and a little ring plover taken today.

Yesterday just as I was leaving the tower hide Ian M. shouted after me as he had just seen this beautiful marsh harrier - Shame the light was so poor for it really was quite stunning.

and finally this pretty little mouse posed for me on the pathway before scampering off into the undergrowth.
